Kiesanowski and Kerdemelidis wedding trip
An old 26" aluminium rim, was dented by a pothole and could not be straightened. I cut two sectors out and used them as a keyboard stand/hanger under the monitor. This has been on my to-do list for years. Note the thin part of the brake rim? Seems that this is designed to fail slightly-gracefully as the rim wears out, rather than all-at-once. The tears were done with a simple squeeze of pliers on the outside - not a lot of force was required. Also, I'm astonished how easy it is to hacksaw through an aluminium rim. 15-20 pushes with a hand hacksaw - I bet a grinder would be sub 5 seconds. 2021-03-13
